With the implementation of electronic invoicing in Saudi Arabia, it has become mandatory to include a QR code on simplified tax invoices. The QR code is mandatory for simplified tax invoices issued primarily from a business to an individual and optional for tax invoices usually issued between businesses. The QR code must be generated electronically by accounting software.
Does the Vortex System Support QR Codes?
The Vortex system fully supports QR codes in compliance with the first phase of electronic invoicing requirements. It adheres to the programming specifications mandated by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), ensuring all required information is included.
What Information Must Be Included in a QR Code?
- Name of the seller or business.
- VAT registration number.
- Date and time of invoice issuance.
- Value of VAT.
- Total amount inclusive of VAT.
How to Read a QR Code and Verify Its Information
You can read the QR code using ZATCA-approved applications for Android and iOS devices:

Upon scanning the QR code, the invoice details will be displayed, ensuring compliance with required standards.
